Eco bag made from discarded hotel linen

When it comes to bags, there's a lot of debate about which type is the most eco-friendly. Plastic, paper, or cloth - it's hard to know which one is better for the environment. But the truth is, using new materials to create anything comes with an environmental cost. That's why it's so important to think about how long a bag can be used and how many times it can be reused.

In fact, the EU has banned single-use plastic bags starting in 2021 and requires a charge for all bags. And that's where Circuliv comes in. Our first product is a 100% recycled eco bag made from upcycled discarded hotel linen. It's designed with durability in mind, so it can hold up to 14kg and has been tested for 25,000 lifts and lowers. Plus, it can be washed with hot water at 40 degrees.

The hotel linens were originally made to be washed frequently, so they're perfect for creating a long-lasting bag. And because we're using existing materials, we're able to reduce the amount of new raw materials we need to make our bags.

Keeping the original colour white is also a key. Dyeing fabrics can have a significant impact on the environment, so by avoiding that step, we're able to reduce our environmental impact even further.

The processing factory is located in Pakistan, received a Good Environmental Choice certification in 2022. By using hotel linen that has already been washed many times instead of new materials, we can avoid the use of harmful chemicals and reduce the health risks for our workers.
