The experience revealed how difficult and impractical exotic leathers could be, leading him to ask a fundamental question:

“What is truly strong, durable, and suitable for everyday use?”

This search led him to an overlooked resource within the Nordic region: salmon skin, a byproduct of the salmon industry that is often discarded despite the large volume of salmon consumed in Scandinavia.

Fish that survive the harsh conditions of the sea develop exceptionally resilient skin. Daniel felt it was wasteful to discard such a material, and this realization became the starting point for developing premium salmon leather.
